2020 Further Flexible Spending Account Changes

Dear Further Member,

These are challenging times, and we know many Americans are looking for ways to save money.

That’s why we want you to be aware of the recent passing of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES Act) and what it means for you. With the CARES Act, you no longer need a prescription to purchase over-the-counter medicine, and you can buy feminine hygiene products (among other items) with your health savings account (HSA) funds.

More information is available here. These changes are permanent.

This means you can now use the funds in your HSA to purchase items, such as:

  • Tampons, pads, and liners
  • Pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications
  • Cold, cough, flu, allergy and sinus medicine
  • Baby electrolytes, rash ointments, and creams

And so much more. See Our Full List.

Effective January 1, 2020

These changes apply to purchases dating back to January 1, 2020. That means if you have purchased any of these items since the beginning of the year, you can file for reimbursement from your HSA.

For information on getting reimbursed, click here.

Questions?

If you have questions about the CARES Act or your account, please contact us at our Member Services line at 1-800-859-2144 or by email at CustomerSolutions@hellofurther.com. We are available Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT.

Sincerely,

The Further team

Email Scam Alert

Good Morning –

Several people have received emails stating they were from Mayor Jones at citycouncil75@gmail.com asking that staff help him by purchasing gift cards.  The text below is what is in the body of the email. THIS IS A SCAM.

Hello Steve, I need you to help me purchase some gift cards at the store for secret surprise gifts for some of the council members and Staff today, let me know if you can do that right away and also let you know the denominations because there is a sharp deadline for this request.

Please do not respond to the email.  I am forwarding the email to Windomnet and letting Windom PD know.  Please share with any other employees that are using City computers.

Thank you.
