Burning Permit Application

Burning of leaves is permitted within the city limits between September 15 and December 1. However, Burning Permits are required. There is a $5.00 charge for the permit. The permit is only in force for the year it was obtained in and each year a new application for a permit must be submitted to the City for approval.

LIMITS and CONDITIONS
1. CALL POLICE DEPT (831-6134) the day that you are burning. If a neighbor makes a call to the Fire Dept because of your fire - and the fire trucks come to your residence - you will be charged for a fire call.
2. Burning permitted between September 15 and December 1.
3. Burning limited to Residential areas only.
4. Burning during daylight hours only.
5. No burning is permitted in the streets.
6. All such fires shall be attended at all times by a person of suitable age and discretion.
7. No burning during an air pollution alert, warning or emergency declared by the Pollution Control Agency.
