Check. Change. Control – Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program

If you were unable to attend, but would still like to join I have linked instructions for creating the online account and setting up Blood Pressure reminder texts. Participant CCC Tracker Account – Set UP
EXCITING NEW OPPORTUNITY WITH THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
The City of Windom is partnering with the American Heart Association to offer an evidence-based wellness and blood pressure management program called Check. Change. Control. (CCC). All employees are encouraged to sign up regardless of whether they have high blood pressure or not! This 4 month educational program focuses on simple changes you can make to improve your overall health and wellness! The only requirement for the program is to commit to entering blood pressure readings into your personal online tracker at least twice a month for four consecutive months. The City will provide each department with blood pressure monitoring equipment to make it easy and convenient for employees to participate in the program. In conjunction with the program, there will be optional monthly educational seminars hosted by the Hy-Vee dietician.

Time: 11:30-1:30
Location: Council Chambers
Stop in between 11:30-1:30 to take your blood pressure reading, register for your personal online tracker account, and SIGN UP FOR DOOR PRIZES!!!
The Hy-Vee Dietician will be onsite during this event to answer questions related to blood pressure control and monitoring.
NOTE: Participation will count toward earning $250 VEBA Incentive for 2018
In the United States, high blood pressure accounts for the second-most
heart disease and stroke deaths among preventable causes.
It’s second only to smoking.
Nearly half of American adults have high blood pressure. (Many don’t even know they have it.)
The best way to know if you have high blood pressure it is to have your blood pressure checked regularly.

Stop in Council Chambers any time between 11:30 and 1:30 to register for the Check. Change. Control Blood Pressure program. It will only take 15 minutes. This program will be used for participation credit for 2018 VEBA incentive AND 2019 $500 VEBA incentive. This is an easy way to get participation credit!!
2. YOGA – Community Center
YOGA starts tonight at the Community Center from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All employees and spouses are welcome to attend!

WOW – Word of the Week Wellness Challenge

Have fun and see how many times you can perform “health” during the week. Modify the exercises if needed. Encourage your co-workers and family members to join you. Challenge yourself to complete more rounds each week!
